Palmer, Associate, represented Lennar Multifamily Communities, LLC and Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. in the City of White Plains’ approval of the multi-use redevelopment of The Westchester Pavilion site at 60 S. Broadway, White Plains, NY with frontage on Maple Avenue, S. Broadway and Hale Avenue. On February 1, 2016, the White Plains Common Council approved a $275 million dollar redevelopment of the largely vacant Westchester Pavilion property on South Broadway for the construction of two 280-foot tall towers containing 707 rental apartments as well as approximately 95,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space including outdoor dining. “This is a tremendous project,” said Mayor Thomas M. Roach at the February 1st meeting of the Common Council, which unanimously granted Site Plan and Special Permit Approval for the nearly 858,000-square-foot, commercial and residential development that will be constructed over the next three years and employ an estimated 2,895 construction workers.
The developer, Broadway and Maple Holdings LLC, is an affiliate of Lennar Corp., a publicly traded real estate development and management company headquartered in Miami, Florida. The White Plains project is led by the diversified company’s Lennar Multifamily Communities LLC in Virginia.
