On March 14, 2024, Managing Partner Anthony B. Gioffre III was honored with the Distinguished Service Award at Pace University’s 29th Annual Leadership Awards Dinner at the Westchester Country Club. The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the legal community. This award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Law School and recognizes individuals who exemplify excellence in the practice of law.

An accomplished land use attorney for more than 25 years, Tony represents national developers, retailers, religious institutions, and individuals before municipal and state land use, zoning and environmental agencies throughout the region. He assists his clients with all aspects of the land use permitting and regulatory compliance process, including compliance with New York’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). Tony has been consecutively highlighted on City & State’s Westchester Power 100 list and has been routinely recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyer.

Tony received his JD from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 1994. He has continued to remain involved in the University by previously serving as a Pace Law Alumni Board Officer for six years, volunteering as a guest lecturer, and played an integral role in Cuddy & Feder’s naming donation for the entryway in Ottinger Hall.

“Receiving Pace University’s Distinguished Service Award was a profound honor,” said Anthony B. Gioffre III. “Throughout my career, I strive to make meaningful contributions not only to the legal profession but also to the communities I serve. This recognition reaffirms the importance of giving back and inspires me to continue advocating for excellence in the practice of law and beyond.”

The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Tony by Chris Fisher, firm Partner, and former recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Chris’s heartfelt presentation of the award provided insight into the 30-year personal and professional journey shared with Tony, from their days as Haub Law classmates to becoming law firm partners and family friends. Fisher highlighted Tony’s exceptional leadership in successfully advocating for major land development projects in Westchester County.

Tony’s commitment to his community extends beyond his legal achievements. In his speech, he expressed his dedication to making a positive impact through his involvement in the not-for-profit organization, Blackbelts for Butterflies, where he serves as an executive committee member, advocating for awareness and acceptance for autism. Additionally, Tony has been actively involved in the Burke Neurological Institute, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Burke Foundation Board, serving as a long-time supporter and Board member. He is also a member of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Committee Board, demonstrating his commitment to driving economic growth and development in the region. As a native of Westchester and a third-generation lawyer, Tony has deep roots in the local community, further emphasizing his dedication to serving and enhancing the region.

The annual dinner brought together prominent alumni, legal academics, judges, and lawyers to celebrate the recipients of the Distinguished Service Award. Tony was honored alongside Paul Humphreys, JD ’09, and Cindy Kanusher Esq.
