On June 21, 2019, the New York State Wireless Association (NYSWA) held its biennial Wireless Forum at Chelsea Piers in New York City and celebrated 12 years as New York State’s only wireless trade association. Christopher B. Fisher, Managing Partner of Cuddy & Feder, founding Board Member, immediate past President and State & Local Government Affairs Advisor at NYSWA, introduced FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, who gave an insightful keynote address on wireless innovation, 5G technology, the state of the mobile marketplace and the digital divide.
Chairman Pai shared his perspectives on how the FCC is ensuring the United States leads the world in wireless innovation. He emphasized the FCC’s “5G Fast Plan” that includes three key components: (1) pushing more spectrum into the marketplace, (2) updating infrastructure policy, and (3) modernizing outdated regulations. A full copy of Chairman Pai’s remarks can be found here.
“It was a tremendous privilege to introduce FCC Chairman Ajit Pai for his keynote address at this year’s Wireless Forum,” said Christopher B. Fisher. “Chairman Pai’s leadership is extraordinary and his keynote was a capstone moment for NYSWA.” Fisher remarked further that “I share Chairman Pai’s belief that ‘working together, we can make sure that the U.S. leads the world in 5G and that every New Yorker and every American has access to digital opportunity’ and that NYSWA has a huge role to play.”
