Partner Neil J. Alexander obtained IDA approvals for the Star Development Group from the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency (UCIDA) for the acquisition, reconstruction, and renovation of approximately 27.3 acres of land located at 1835 Broadway in the Town of Esopus in Ulster County, New York. The project received financial incentives including tax exemptions from certain sales and use taxes, real property taxes, real estate transfer taxes and mortgage recording taxes from the UCIDA and the NYBDC/SBA.
Neil also secured the underlying land use approvals from the Town of Esopus Planning Board for the craft distillery facility and event space. Charles Ferri and Paul Seres are excited to renovate the on-site 19th-century building that was formerly used as a monastery.
From this location on the Hudson River, they will produce ultra-premium vodka, gin, and whiskey as well as host events and weddings from this scenic venue.
