Cuddy & Feder Partner Anthony B. Gioffre III and Associate Charles J. Gottlieb recently obtained approvals from the City of New Rochelle City Council to rezone a portion of the West End of New Rochelle along Union Avenue in close proximity to the nearby Montefiore hospital. The rezoning establishes a new Neighborhood Business-Hospital “NB-H” Zoning District which will complement the commercial area around the hospital and now include residential development opportunities. The City’s new regulations encourage workforce multifamily residential, retail, personal service, office and medical office uses to serve residents, health care workers and families of the West End neighborhood. The new NB-H Zoning District furthers New Rochelle’s Comprehensive Plan and addresses recent trends by actually reducing off-street parking requirements to reinvigorate this area of New Rochelle.
